CBD Oil Now Legal in 11 States

CBD Oil Now Legal in 11 States

A father adminsters cannabis oil in tincture form to his son.

Legislation allowing the production of low-THC, CBD-rich marijuana has been approved for limited use in 10 states.

Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the many chemicals in marijuana. Recent publicity about children who suffer from seizures benefitting from oil extracted from marijuana that has almost no THC (i.e hemp)) has set off a wave of legislation like never seen before. Now state reps can favor marijuana without the fear of people getting high from it. This explains why so many Republicans are sponsoring these bills.

√ Utah
On Mar. 25, Utah Gov. Gary Herbert signed HB 105 into law, making Utah thefirst state to legalize CBD oil. On Mar. 11, Utah's Senate unanimously passed the bill, sponsored by Republican Rep. Gage Froerer, which instructs the state's Department to Agriculture to grow low-THC industrial hemp for the purpose of producing cannabis oil. Known as the "Plants Extracts Amendment," the bill allows Utah resdients to acquire the medicine in Colorado and bring it back to Utah.

√ Alabama
On Apr. 1, Gov. Robert Bentley signed Carly's Law, named for three-year-old Carly Chandler, makingAlabama thesecond state to legalize CBD oil. On Mar. 11, Alabama's Senate voted unanimously in favor of SB 174. The bill, sponsored by Republican Sen. Paul Sanford, calls for the University of Alabama to conduct research into cannibidiol's efficacy in treating neurological conditions such as epilepsy. UAB would be able to prescribe the oil to approved patients. One million dollars has been allocated for the study.

√ Kentucky
On Apr. 11, Gov. Steve Beshear signed SB 124 into law, making Kentucky the third state to legalize CBD oil. On Mar. 12, Kentucky's Senate unanimously approved the bill, sponsored by Republican Sen. Julie Denton. On Mar, 26, the House did the same. The new law alows the University of Kentucky and University of Louisville med schools to conduct research into CBD oil and provide it to patients enrolled in the trial program.

√ Wisconsin
On Apr. 16, Gov. Scott Walker signed  AB 726 into law, making Wisconsin thefourth state to legalize CBD oil. It's unclear where and by whom the oil is going to be produced.

9 Halloween Costumes for Stoners

9 Halloween Costumes for Stoners

By Mary Jane Gibson

Pot lovers occasionally feel the need to proclaim their allegiance to the herb in sartorially creative ways. Here are a few cannabis costume ideas for Halloween-loving stoners.
1. Miss HIGH TIMES

For girls who want to bare it all on Halloween while proclaiming their stoner status, take inspiration from the ganja gals who’ve been crowned Miss HT.
2. Pot Activist

To emulate brave activists who have fought for pot-smokers’ rights, all you need is weed, the cojones to blaze in the face of authorities, and a nice suit.
3. Budtender

Sort of like being a “kissing booth” for Halloween… you just need to wear a table-full of jars stocked with pot, available to those who pay you in kind. You will WIN that party.
4. Cheech and Chong

Old-school; but if you and a friend manage to evoke this duo’s comedic stony heyday, you’ll get so many pot-brownie points. You’ll need suspenders, a bandana, and plenty of weed to share.
5. A Bag of Weed

You’ll be super-popular if your outfit is a giant bag of weed. However, your costume will be quickly depleted , and then you’ll just be wearing an empty plastic baggie.

13 Halloween Candies We’d Like Better With Pot

13 Halloween Candies We’d Like Better With Pot

By Mary Jane Gibson

It’s Halloween, and candy-filled plastic pumpkins are leering at you from every corner of your office/home/neighbor’s stoop. Candy, candy everywhere! It’s a nightmare! We think these classic Halloween sweets would improve when paired with pot.
Candy Corn

Candy Corn tastes like crayons. Candy Kush is a sugary indica. What if we consume the two together? So much better (for the Candy Corn)!
Tootsie Rolls

"Whatever it is I think I see, becomes a Tootsie Roll to me." Catchy. “Whatever it is I think I see, becomes a big fat nug to me.” Catchier! Pair a Tootsie Roll with Chocolope to boost the cocoa flavor.
Smarties

A bong rip of Sweeth Tooth will soften the super-pucker Smarties give you. Sweet AND smart!
Mary Janes

Not everyone’s a fan of this old-school molasses candy, but we all love marijuana. Double down on your Mary Janes with some Mary Jane (may we suggest Mother’s Finest?).
Reese's Peanut Butter Cups

These salty peanut butter and sweet chocolate cups are “guaranteed to add a dab of pure happy to your day this Halloween.” Dabs! Do a dab of honey oil, and munch away! Mmmm.
Rolos

They are called Rolos. Therefore it is mandatory that you roll-o up some blunts while you eat them. If you have Chocolate Chunk, you will finish the bag-o.
Sour Liquid Candy Urine Sample

Um, what? Oh, it's candy! Packaged in a urine sample container, this sour liquid candy is truly gross. Forget the ick factor with Amnesia Haze.

I was a skate rat.

i was a skate rat.

from

i was a skate rat.
The sun drenched, cascade of sub and ex-urban cul-de-sacs crawl across the state of Florida, much like its creeping kudzu brethren to the north. A constant source of derision among urban planning futurists, architects, and environmentalists alike, the vague banality of suburban life has been excoriated for years by the culture class for representing the life draining, and waste producing by-product of our civilization’s greatest advances. Skateboarding, like life, as is so menacingly projected in 1993’s Jurassic Park, will find a way. It is in these island-like colonies, without the music scenes, without advantageous architectural density, and without the crews of peers that drove skating to new heights in urban environments, that some of skateboarding’s most pivotal moments transpired.

Creating a Kitchen Pharmacy: How to Prepare Medicinal Teas

Creating a Kitchen Pharmacy: How to Prepare Medicinal Teas

The art of tea making has been prized for many thousands of years. In fact, it is one of the most common methods for the consumption of medicinal herbs.
It’s a simple process that requires simple tools. So long as you have…
  • boiling water
  • a pot, cup, or jar
  • herbs
…you have a very safe and effective healing remedy.
Herbal teas can be prepared either through infusion or decoction based on the delicacy of the plant material.
Infusions
Creating an herbal infusion involves pouring boiling water over parts of the plant such as leaves, flowers, and stems then allowing the infusion to steep for 10 to 45 minutes (The longer the steeping time the more beneficial components of the herbs are released into the water). Note: Cover the jar, bowl, or cup while steeping to avoid the loss of medicinal properties from evaporation.
As with oil infusions (we’ll talk more about this next post in the series), you may also create an herbal water infusion by using solar or cold infusion methods. In order to do so, combine the herbs and room temperature water in a glass jar. For a solar infusion, place the covered jar in a sunny location and allow to steep for 2-8 hours. And for a cold infusion, you can simply leave the jar in the refrigerator to steep overnight then strain in the morning.
Herbal infusions can be prepared in larger quantities and refrigerated (up to 3 days) for convenience and ease of use during times of illness.
